[ Summary ] Hematochezia associated with non-IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) is primarily diagnosed with endoscopy. The most important factor is evaluating the systemic status of patients. If it may be employed, colonoscopy is the first choice for patients with hematochezia. If there are no lesions causing hematochezia found with either lower or upper GI endoscopy, examinations of the small intestine with capsule and/or balloon endoscopy should be conducted.
