[ Summary ] The treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) has developed significantly over the past 10 years. More recently, monoclonal antibodies such as bevacizumab and cetuximab have become available for use in mCRC treatment in combination with 5-fluorouracil, irinotecan and oxaliplatin. How best to incorporate these potent new therapeutic tools into treatment plans for individual patients remains to be determinated.
It is necessary for us to maintain a system by which new drugs may be introduced in Japan before they are in Europe and America.
