[ Summary ] Endoscopic observation of the entire small intestine has become possible through the development of the double balloon endoscope and the capsule endoscope. It is now possibleļ¼Œand precisely observe small lesions. Intestinal tuberculosis without primary pulmonary lesions is sometimes present with or without the existence of states of immunological deficiency. The incidence of this condition has increased. There are still cases in which it is difficult to producea definitive diagnosis with endoscopic or X-ray imaging studies. Not only should image based findings be employed, but newly developed modalities such as the PCR method or QFT-2G should be carried out in order to achieve diagnose of intestinal tuberculosis.
