[ Summary ] Various vascular patterns in the colorectum were visualized with Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) magnification. We divided them into six patterns ; normal, faint, network, dense, irregular, and sparse. Assuming that faint pattern is characteristic of hyperplastic polyps, the accuracy is as high as 98.0%. Irregular/sparse patterns are useful for differentiating deeply invasive submucosal cancers from slightly, invasive cancers or intramucosal carcinomas. Diagnostic accuracy for this differentiation was 90.7%.
