[ Summary ] The best way to avoid the risk of hepatitis B infection is preventing the viral infection itself by vaccine. Although HB vaccine is an excellent vaccine, problems such as the existence of vaccine non‒responders need to be resolved. As many Japanese born before the introduction of universal HB vaccination in 2016 do not have anti‒HBs antibody, a strategy to prevent horizontal infection is required in this international community.
