Transabdominal ultrasonography (US) is an easy and noninvasive modality. Since it can be performed not only by a doctor but also by a technician, it can be widely used in annual health checkups. It is also used as an initial diagnostic modality for acute abdominal disease. Therefore, its usefulness is extensive. US plays many role in gallbladder cancer diagnosis, including detection of lesions, differential diagnosis, and cancer staging. US diagnosis of gallbladder cancer is explained, using the ultrasound diagnotic criteria for gallbladder carcinoma and abdominal ultrasound cancer screening manuals. |
