[ Summary ] Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) arise from cells of the endocrine and nervous systems. They occur in the pancreas, intestine, and lung, as well as in the rest of the body. Although the etiology of NENs is still uncertain, 10 % of NENs are associated with hereditary tumors, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1, von Hippel-Lindau disease, neurofibromatosis 1, and tuberous sclerosis. On deciding the treatment strategy, confirming whether hereditary tumor is merged is important.
