[ Summary ] For the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma, the estimation of tumor markers is carried out as the supplementary investigation along with the use of image diagnostic equipment, and the diagnosis is confirmed by image diagnosis. In this area, emergence of contrast agents for MRI such as Gd-EOB-DTPA, SPIO, and contrast agents for ultrasound have immensely influenced the improvement of diagnostic performance, especially Gd-EOB-DTPA has changed the diagnostic protocols. "Clinical Practice Guidelines for Hepatocellular Carcinoma 2017" has been revised last year. In this section, we will explain image inspection for liver cancer surveillance according to these guidelines.
