[ Summary ] Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is regarded as one of the known lifestyle‒related diseases, which could therefore benefit from a modification in lifestyle. Good eating habits, and a moderately balanced exercise regimen are the primary components of an effective treatment strategy for GERD, which can prevent its occurrence. Lifestyle modifications, which form an essential component of the medical treatment regimen for GERD not only improve a patient's quality of life (QOL) but also contribute to the prevention for lifestyle‒related diseases that are commonly complicated with GERD.
