| [ Summary ] | Endoscopic ultrasound‒guided gallbladder drainage (EUS‒GBD) has recently emerged as a method for non‒surgical gallbladder drainage for acute cholecystitis, especially as palliative treatment for a non‒surgical candidate, because of its high success rate and its internal drainage ability. Moreover, EUS‒GBD is reported to be useful as a bridge to surgery. Although a covered metal stent, especially lumen‒apposing metal stent, is reported to be useful for preventing bile leaks during or after the procedure, the long‒term outcome and issues regarding insurance have not yet been resolved. In the future, appropriate drainage methods in accordance with patient status, will be clarified. | |
