[ Summary ] The mean life expectancy is increasing in Japan. As a result, the proportion of elderly patients diagnosed with gastric cancer is also increasing. Consequently, it is imperative that appropriate treatment be established for such patients. However, selecting the correct operative procedure for them is quite difficult because of tolerability of surgery and the high incidence of comorbidities. This study aimed to illustrate a point of gastrectomy for the elderly patients with gastric cancer, investigating with our retrospective data.
