[ Summary ] |
Sedation is an essential tool in therapeutic endoscopy, especially in endoscopic submucosal dissection. The purpose of sedation is not only to relieve the patient of discomfort, but also to improve the conditions during an endoscopic procedure. However, some complications related to sedation are known. Knowledge about the pharmacological profiles of sedative agents and appropriate monitoring are necessary to maximize the likelihood that the desired level of sedation is targeted accurately. The preparation of instruments or medication for resuscitation is also necessary. |
