[ Summary ] The JGES (Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society) guidelines describe the endoscopic aspects of managing non‒variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopic hemostasis is the first‒line treatment for peptic ulcer bleeding. It is important to stabilize the patient's vital signs for successful endoscopic hemostasis and anti‒secretory agents are recommended to prevent rebleeding after endoscopic hemostasis. Additionally, second‒look endoscopy should be considered in patients with risk factors for early rebleeding after initial hemostasis. Interventional radiology or surgery should be performed in patients with peptic gastroduodenal ulcer bleeding in whom endoscopic hemostasis fails.
