[ Summary ] Recently, the prevalence of colorectal cancer has been on an increasing trend, and therefore, early detection by endoscopic examination followed by an early treatment is imperative. When lesions are detected during endoscopic examination under magnified observation using NBI (Narrow‒Band Imaging) or pigment method in addition to ordinary observation, an appropriate diagnosis of quality and reachability becomes possible. With the spread of endoscopic treatment including endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), the importance of endoscopic diagnosis is increasing.
