[ Summary ] |
Endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) is an indispensable ERCP‒related procedure for diagnosis and treatment of biliary and pancreatic disease. EST is associated with complications such as hemorrhage, perforation, and post‒ERCP pancreatitis. Therefore, it is important for endoscopists to be aware of the indications for EST and have sound knowledge of the anatomy of Vater's papilla, treatment implements of EST, techniques, and management strategies for EST complications to ensure safe EST. |
