[ Summary ] |
Considerable attention has been paid to the relationship between obesity and the development of gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunctions. We identified a novel endogenous molecule, nesfatin‒1, expressed in both the brain and adipocytes, that functions as a satiety factor and suppresses adipogenesis. Nesfatin‒1, which is also localized in the GI tract, might contribute to the development of some GI tract disorders. |
