[ Summary ] Diverticula of the stomach that do not present with symptoms are often discovered during mass screening for gastric cancer. It has a frequency of 0.2 %, as detected in the radiographic screening at our center. The most common site was the fornix. A majority of patients had a single diverticulum. The size ranged from 0.5 to 6 cm, with a mean diameter of 2.2 cm. Diverticula of the stomach do not need treatment unless they present with complications such as bleeding or perforation. With radiographic imaging and endoscopy, differential diagnosis of a diverticulum is easy as the adjacent mucous membrane is displaced and the inside is smooth.
