[ Summary ] The initial detection of a small pancreatic mass is important for diagnosing early pancreatic cancer. Dynamic CT and MR imaging performed according to appropriate protocols should enable the detection of a hypovascular mass and/or a mass with delayed enhancement. However, detecting pancreatic masses with diameters of 1 cm or less is extremely difficult. Diagnosing early pancreatic cancer based on the detection of the mass also has some limitations. Therefore, detecting lesions of the pancreatic duct becomes very important in the diagnosis of early pancreatic cancer. MRCP can detect minute lesions of the pancreatic duct sensitively and noninvasively and plays an important role in the diagnosis of early pancreatic cancer.
