[ Summary ] Colorectal treatment, particularly endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a less invasive and preferred procedure for en?bloc resection.
Colorectal endoscopic treatment requires higher level of skills and experiences because of the anatomical features of the colon and technical difficulties. Moreover, ESD has a higher risk of complications and takes longer time than EMR. In order to perform a safe and effective treatment, preoperative assessment is indispensable. We should always take care not only to evaluate the lesions before the procedure but also to manage patient care in the perioperative period. Furthermore, we should be ready to respond to complications quickly. Additionally, with the use of a clinical path, it is possible to dispense team medical care efficiently and stably.
