[ Summary ] Prevalence of liver‒related morbidity and mortality as well as overall mortality is greater in HIV/HCV‒coinfected patients than that in HCV‒monoinfected patients. Patients co‒infected with HIV and HCV genotype 1 must be treated with a combination of sofosbuvir and ledipasvir for 12 weeks. Patients co‒infected with HIV and HCV genotype 2 must be treated with ribavirin and sofosbuvir for 12 weeks. Treatment with an interferon‒free regimen should be administered in collaboration with a HIV practitioner.
