[ Summary ] The mutational patterns of natural resistance‒associated substitutions (RAS) and of emergent RAS after failure of treatment with a combination therapy of Daclatasvir plus Asunaprevir are completely different. High rates of Sustained Virological Response can be obtained by using fixed‒dose combinations of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir for treating patients infected with natural RAS in hepatitis C variants. However, treatment for emergent RAS variants is highly complex, since triple, quadruple, and quintuple RAS have been observed in NS5A variants, and these variants may exhibit a high level of resistance to NS5A inhibitors.
