[ Summary ] Recently, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has been applied for superficial colorectal neoplasms and the number of related publications has been increasing ; however, little is known about the outcomes of colorectal ESD for lesions larger than 50 mm. In this article, we evaluated the feasibility and safety of colorectal ESD for lesions larger than 50 mm as compared to smaller lesions. A total of 674 superficial colorectal neoplasms in 629 patients treated using ESD at Kobe University Hospital from July 2008 to July 2013 were included in the analysis. ESD for colorectal lesions over 50 mm requires a longer operative time;however, it is resected effectively without increasing the risk of adverse events as compared to smaller lesions treated by using ESD.
