[ Summary ] |
Capsule endoscopy (CE) and double‒balloon endoscopy are effective modalities for imaging gastrointestinal mucosa and are approved for use in Japan since April 2007. Currently, CE is considered an essential investigation for small‒intestinal lesions. Despite the overall increase in CE examinations in Japan, it is not yet commonly available in Ibaraki Prefecture. A telemedicine network for CE examination is one strategy for resolving this problem. We have established a network of 13 facilities in July 2010 called the "Ibaraki Capsule Endoscopy Network". In this section, we present the outline and achievements of the Ibaraki Capsule Endoscopy Network for the last five years. |
