[ Summary ] Advanced adenoma, adenoma, and SSA/P (sessile serrated adenoma/polyp) are currently believed to be the precursors of colorectal cancer. Several studies have indicated that the endoscopic resection of these lesions could reduce both the incidence of colorectal cancer and colorectal cancer‒related death. Moreover, it is important to resect the colonic lesions in patients diagnosed with inherited forms of colorectal cancer such as FAP (familial adenomatous polyposis) and Lynch syndrome, in order to prevent colorectal cancer. Hence, we believe that well‒managed surveillance/screening programs can provide longer survival and higher quality of life for such patients.
