[ Summary ] Since the advent of EUS-elastography (EUS-EG), tissue elasticity information has been added to routine EUS diagnosis with techniques such as B-mode imaging, Doppler imaging and FNA diagnosis. EUS-EG can evaluate the relative elastic information within a region of interest. Since September 2004, EUS-EG for pancreatico-biliary disease has been performed in our institution. Many pancreatic malignancies, as well as chronic pancreatitis have been visualized in terms of rigidity. In addition, it has been confirmed that pancreatic fibrosis was an important factor in evaluating pancreatic elasticity. Our diagnostic ability for pancreatic disease can be improved dramatically with the better interpretations of EUS-EG findings.
