[ Summary ] The acronym "JETPEG" (jejunal tube through PEG) is the term for placement of a jejunal catheter through gastrostomy. The term "PEG-J" (percutaneous endoscopic gastro-jejunostomy is also used, as is the term percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy with jejunal extension) or the term TGJ (trans-gastric jejunal tubing). JETPEG is used for PEG patients with esophago-gastric regurgitation or aspirational pneumonia. JETPEG is performed with X-ray imaging or with endoscopy. Jejunal catheters used for JETPEG are employed for enteral nutrition. Gastric catheters are used for aspiration of gastric contents. JETPEG is a useful method for prevention of reflex and pneumonia in PEG patients.
