| [ Summary ] | Gastric neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are grouped into four types according to Rindiʼs classification, referring to hypergastrinemia and background of diseases. Treatment of gastric NETs is decided on in accordance with Rindiʼs classification, tumor size, number of tumors and depth of invasion. Gastric NETs should be resected endoscopically or by conventional surgery. Patients with metastasized NET are treated with somatostatin analogs, chemotherapy or interferon. Metastasized NETs in the liver are treated with surgical resection, hepatic artery embolization or radiofrequency ablation. Patients exhibiting carcinoid syndromes are treated with somatostatin analogs. | |
