| [ Summary ] | Patients with peritoneal dissemination of scirrhous gastric carcinoma cells have a poor prognosis. In these conditions, no therapy is recommended except chemotherapy. The adaptation of palliative operations for cancerous gastrointestinal obstructions in patients with unresectable gastric cancer remains controversial. However, we should perform these palliative operations for patients whose quality of life may be improved. Intraperitoneal administration of an anticancer agent, especially taxanes, is a more effective treatment in terms of longer survival rates. There is not an effective therapy for gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination. Therefore, cancer immunotherapy for these patients is a significant option. Palliative care is an important medical technique for treatment of patients with scirrhous gastric carcinoma cells. | |
