[ Summary ] Submucosal tumors of the large intestine, although rare, are not completely uncommon to colonoscopists who observe submucosal tumors from time to time when performing colonoscopic examinations. It is difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of submucosal tumors through biopsies. This is because the surface of these tumors is covered by the epithelium. It is necessary to have specific knowledge of specific features of particular submucosal tumors in order to make accurate diagnoses.
