| [ Summary ] | The treatment policy of hepatitis C has greatly changed with the emergence of Teraprevir. The Japanese Society of Hepatology officially launched the treatment guidelines of hepatitis C in May 2012. This guideline includes 4 chapters and a number of recommendations for treatment, and illustrates the treatment policy of hepatitis C with flowcharts, based on the estimation of the risk for development of hepatocellular carcinoma in each case. Also this guideline explains when the treatment should be stopped, depending on the clinical status in Japan. We do hope this guideline will be widely accepted and utilized by hepatologists in clinical practices in Japan. | |
