[ Summary ] The primary difference between TN-EGD and TO-EGD is the use of premedication. It is necessary that adequate anesthesia be administered to the nasal cavity. This consists of less than 200 mg of lidocaine for TN-EGD premedication. Gastric peristalsis sometimes occurs during TN-EGD, so glucagon and mint-oil are administered when improvement of observation and biopsy procedure is necessary. Biopsy forceps modified for TN-EGD should also be used for adequate pathological diagnosis.
