[ Summary ] The prognosis for pancreatic cancer is poor. Early detection and diagnosis of small pancreatic cancer is important for improving prognoses. Recent, progress in trans-abdominal ultrasonography has been remarkable. This technology presents an opportunity for improved detection of pancreatic cancer. Newly developed, minimally invasive, contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CE-US) can be performed easily even on outside patients, providing important diagnostic information. Ultrasonography is useful as an important modality for screening to develop differential diagnoses and diagnostic staging for treatment of pancreatic cancer.
