[ Summary ] Nodular gastritis is a particular type of gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. In general, the prevalence of nodular gastritis is high in children and young adults. Although nodular gastritis has been considered to be a physiological phenomenon in young women, it is now defined as endoscopic gastritis of the antrum caused by H. pylori infection, with mucosal inflammation also present in the corpus mucosa. Nodular gastritis is strongly associated with diffuse-type gastric cancer of the corpus in young patients.
