[ Summary ] Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CE-US) is a noninvasive diagnostic technique. Inprovements in intravenous ultrasonographic contrast agents such as Levovist® and Sonazoid®, as well as ultrasound devices have made it possible to investigate not only the vascularity of lesions but also to perform noninvasive perfusion lesions noninvasively. Sonazoid®, a second-generation contrast agent, makes it possible to evaluate detailed vascularity in real time. We compared Levovist® imaging with Sonazoid® imaging in terms of analyzing biliary debris, gallbladder polyps, adenomyomatosis, gallbladder cancer and metastasis. In this report, Sonazoid® imaging cleary displayed multiplex layers as adenomyomatosis cases with obviously thickened walls. However, it was difficult to evaluate diagnostic usefulness in terms of lesion vascularity in cases with small polypoid lesions such as early gallbladder cancer.
