[ Summary ] Early detection is the most cost-effective strategy for preventing colon cancer. Chemoprevention appears to be promising for high risk groups. Celecoxib is approved for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, but its long term use is indicated to cause cardiovascular diseases. The ideal agents, combinations, and stratified subjects remain to be determined.
