[ Summary ] The anatomy of anorectal lesions is quite complicated. Diagnosis and treatment of conditions located in this region are difficult due to the close proximity of structures in this area. The functions of these structures play a major role in our daily lives, maintaining continence of gas and stools. Lack of functionality often diminishes patients' QOL. It is important to fully understand the anatomy and physiology of this area of the body and to consult with patients to avoid any misleading diagnoses or improper treatments.
