[ Summary ] Pit pattern classification for useful, accurate diagnosis and treatment strategies for colorectal adenoma / adenocarcinoma. The development of optical chromoendoscopic methods such as narrow band imaging and the FUJI intelligent color enhancement system allows for the detection of superficial microvessels. Magnified observation of IPCLs (intra-papillary capillary loops) is useful to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment strategies for pharyngeal or esophageal neoplasia. Magnified observation of superficial architectures and microvessels is useful in the diagnosis of gastric cancer, in particular the identification of cancer demarcation, allowing complete endoscopic resection of the lesions.
