[ Summary ] Biliary drainage and anti-cancer treatment were required for patients with pancreatic and biliary malignancies. For cases with hilar obstructions, we usually insert uncovered metallic stents and perform uni-lobe drainage. Radiotherapy is found to be effective in improving patency and survival rates. Covered metallic stents has been accepted as the standard endoprosthesis for management of distal biliary malignancy cases. Endoscopic pancreatic treatment is effective for benign stricture cases. However, we must select patients carefully because these procedures present some risk.
