[ Summary ] In relation to the graying of our society, the chance of treatment to elderly patients is increasing. Numerous neoplastic lesions including cancers have been found in those over 80 years of age. It is important to select treatments from the point of therapeutic effects as well as safer approaches, which take into consideration their QOL. Endoscopic treatments play a key role in elderly patients treatment, because they are less invasive. However, if the safety of endoscopic treatment can not be guaranteed, alternative methods should be selected. In addition, follow-up examinations are not always necessary, so the number of examinations for elderly patients will be reduced.
