[ Summary ] |
A specialized columnar epithelium (SCE) associated with Barrett's esophagus, has been detected in random biopsies employing conventional endoscopy. However, magnifying endoscopy can be used to observe pit patterns associated with SCE in Barrett's esophagus. Targeted biopsies performed with magnifying endoscopy may contribute to the early detection of Barrett's cancer. |
