| [ Summary ] | Magnifying endoscopic diagnosis of colorectal lesions is a promising modality utilizing pit patterns, manifested by shape of the cryptal opening and density of the glands. However, cellular atypia and the state of the lesion in the deeper part can not be judged by pit pattern. Therefore, it is impossible to diagnose neoplasms without structural atypia or non-neoplasms with structural atypia. In addition, it is also impossible to distinguish adenoma from carcinoma with scant atypia. It is also relatively easy to diagnose the depth of invasion of submucosal cancers with cropping out on the surface, but it is quite difficult to diagnose those without cropping out on the surface. | |
