[ Summary ] In this article, we reviewed the main feartures of intraductal papillary mucinous tumors (IPMT) of the pancreas as observed with CTs and MRIs. The reports of IPMT of the pancreas are increasingly more frequent in medical literature. Diagnosis of these tumors by means of CT and MRI has become easy with the improvements made in the CT and MRI machines. However, we must pay attention to the complication related to invasive ductal cancer or the advent of invasion into pancreatic parenchyma in follow-up CTs or MRIs in both surgical and non-surgical cases. If we observe some changes in the follow-up studies, we must perform the further examinations, using endoscopic procedures. In order to differentiate IPMTs from other cystic neoplasms when we find cystic masses in the pancreas, we should pay attention to the inner architecture of cystic masses and the continuity between the main pancreatic duct and the cystic mass.
