[ Summary ] In recent yeras, in spite of the quantity of alcohol consumption per adult leveling off or begining to decrease, there has not been a decreased in the number of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) patients. A male drinking person's aging, and an increase and juvenilization of a female drinking person are participating in this factor. Moreover, ALD without virus hepatitis is increasing. Because, it has influenced that a rate of habitual drinking person with hepatitis virus fell. The number of alcoholic hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) cases, with the hepatitis C virus, is still thought to be about 30 %. In recent years, HCC without viral hepatitis has increased. ALD is associated with approximately half of the non-B, non-C hepatitis cases. It is important in ALD diagnosis that we gather exact information concerning a drinking histories to achieve improvements in liver function through abstinence.
