[ Summary ] We described the efficacy of colonoscopy, using NBI systems for colorectal disease. The efficacy of differential diagnoses of non-neoplastic lesions and neoplastic lesions, or judgment of the degree of remission in patients with ulcerative colitis, will be revealed in the near future. NBI systems can be changed easily and produce reverse observations of conventional views and NBI views. NBI systems are useful for the observation of microvascular architectures in the surface layer of the mucosa. Therefore, NBI systems can be termed “easy chromoscopy”, and will become widely used in Western countries.
