[ Summary ] A double-wavelength infrared ray videoendoscopic system was useful in diagnosing gastric malignant tumors and differentiating them from benign ones in clinical examinations. With the aim of improving diagnosing capabilities, a blue display of double infrared ray wavelengths was developed for videoendoscopes. By using infrared rays and Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) together, further developments can be expected not only in diagnostic capabilities but also for treatment. Moreover, use of double-wavelength infrared videoendoscopic systems has been examined and applied for use in sclerotherapy in gastroesophageal clinical situations.
