[ Summary ] |
The main complaints concerning acute gastro-entero-colitis, abdominal pain are vomiting and dehydration. These symptoms require acute treatment. In the early phase of this condition, without diarrhea, diagnosis is difficult because of the possability of intussusception, or urinary tract infection, Henoch purpura syndrome, and acute myocarditis display almost same the symptoms. Treatment uses the basic concept of no food being given to allow the bowel to rest. Adequate intravenous rehydration is required. If necessary, appropriate antibiotics should be given. |
