[ Summary ] Although many pediatric patients with abdominal pain are consulted by us almost every day, it is true that the accurate diagnosis of these patients is not easy without ultrasonography. Using abdominal ultrasonography, a great deal of useful findings may be obtained for diagnosis within a short time. Abdominal ultrasonography is becoming an essential tool for the diagnosis of abdominal pain along with the use of the stethoscope. It is important to recognize specific echo findings related to bowel gas, fluids and stools, as well as the visceral anatomy. When pediatric patients with abdominal pain are consulted, two points are essential. First, constipation is a major cause of abdominal pain in childhood. Secondly, when abdominal pain is not alviated with an enema, we should considered the possibility of acute gastric mucosal lesions, intussusception and / or acute appendicitis.
