[ Summary ] |
Endoscopists should thoroughly treat colorectal cancer at an early stage with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). A 2-channel colonoscope enables us to make a complete resection of large lesions by using adequately grasping forceps. When using a 2-channel colonoscope with a magnifying system, it is easy to detect the residual tumor at the margin of the resected area. If a lesion is treated with piecemeal resection, it should be followed-up on within 1 year. It is possible that most locally recurrent lesions found within 1 year after EMR may be re-treated with endoscopy. |
