[ Summary ] Interventional endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is accepted as an established diagnostic and therapeutic method. Recently, some kinds of EUS-guided therapy for advanced pancreatic carcinoma have been investigated in clinical trials and / or experimental studies. Anticancer therapy modes are divided into 2 procedures, drug delivery using fine needle injection (e.g. ethanol, gene, cells) and ablation using specialized needle devices (e.g. radiofrequency ablation, or photodynamic therapy). EUS-guided therapy as an interventional form of EUS is a procedure which is expanding the possibilities for treatment of advanced pancreatic carcinoma.
