[ Summary ] |
Management of Crohn's anal fistulae is important for good QOL. It is important to make a diagnosis of the type of anal fistula as an intractable fistula with primary lesions or an ordinary fistula, seen as an incidental lesion. For intractable anal fistula such as intersphincteric fistula with multiple external openings, seton treatment is effective along with treatment for concomitant active colitis. Fecal diversion should be recommended for the patients who have extrasphinteric fistula or who have not been helped with seton treatment. |
